LUNGSOD NG SORSOGON, Enero 1 (PIA) –- Inanunsyo ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Sorsogon sa mga nagmamay-ari ng lupa na magkakaroon ng pagtaas sa singil sa real property tax simula sa unang araw ng Enero.
Sa pahayag ng Sorsogon City Council ang pagtaas ng singil sa buwis ay bunsod ng pagtaas din ng fair market value ng mga real property hindi lamang sa lungsod kundi maging sa buong lalawigan ng Sorsogon.Matatandaang una nang nagpasa ng isang ordinansa ang konseho ng lungsod, ang City Ordinance No. 018, series of 2011 na may titulong, “An ordinance providing for an updated schedule of fair market values of real properties in the city of Sorsogon.”

The month long celebration of the Kasanggayahan Festival (KF) 2011 ended last Sunday, October 30 with hundreds of people lining the main thoroughfares of Magsaysay and Rizal Sts. here to witness the well-awaited Pantomina sa Tinampo, with contingents coming from different local government units, schools and other organizations as competing entities.
Pantomina sa Tinampo, as chronicled by Reynaldo T. Jamoralin in his book “Tracing: from Solsogon to Sorsogon”, speaks of this ritual as a courtship dance, reflective of Bikol's culture and usually danced in fiestas, weddings and eventually performed in the streets when the first Kasanggayahan Festival was celebrated in the province in1974.

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary , Jessie Robredo keynoted the 117th founding anniversary of the province of Sorsogon commemorated through the Kasanggayahan Festival 2011 started with a concelebrated mass held at the provincial Gymnasium last Monday.
Secretary Robredo met the local government officials and other heads of offices from both the provincial and national agencies here at the Sorsogon Provincial Training Center where he delivered his keynote message.
